1950s Surfers Paradise Gold Coast. Queensland Playground. "A place where it's always summer, where the sun and the sand are gold."

The classic Surfers Paradise Pyjama Parties at the Beachcomer Hotel. Licencing laws were strict so raids were regularly conducted… and anticipated. The police would confiscate the beer but people took to throwing the bottles in the pool. Which lead to the police going in after the evidence. While the cops disrobed the band played stripper music.

"so sure of itself" The idyllic location with the uppity joke name. So many just don’t quite understand. This Englishman from the BBC is trying. Maybe. There is something quintessetially British about his fabulously patronising tone.
